Pre/Post-Natal

Prenatal

Women’s bodies experience many different changes during pregnancy. Chiropractic may benefit pregnant women by reducing low back pain, having shorter labor times, and by detecting, preventing, and correcting the position of the baby. Our goal is to support pregnant women, make sure they are comfortable, and empower them to have the birth they want. Our goal at Rochester Chiropractic & Wellness is to provide a nurturing, mother-centered, safe and gentle means to promote optimum health before, during and after pregnancy for both mother and child. This will form the foundation of a lifelong partnership in health and wellness for the whole family.

Dr. Beth McVey, Dr. Abby Splittstoesser & Dr. Jordan Schmidt are certified in the Webster Technique, which is commonly utilized when in-utero position presents as breech or transverse. This chiropractic technique helps to correct sacral misalignment, balance pelvic muscles and ligaments which in turn removes torsion to the women’s uterus, its resulting constraint to the baby, and allows the baby to get into the best possible position for birth.

Postnatal

After birth, the mother’s pelvis changes in many ways, most importantly the biomechanics.  These changes can bring discomfort and imbalances with nursing, sleeping, walking, and even going to the bathroom.  Restoring these imbalances in the pelvis along with core and pelvic floor rehabilitation, is pertinent to getting the mothers body to heal and function better, much like it was prior to being pregnant.  Our goal is to create more awareness to this season of life for mothers and help them gain confidence in their post-partum bodies.
