It’s no surprise that we love seeing Moms in our office! In honor of Mother’s Day, we wanted to share the top five reasons we love to care for moms!!

• Filling a mom’s cup allows them to pour into their families. Moms all to often pour all of themselves into their spouse and kids, and not think about their own self-care. The problem is, if they give too much and don’t refill their own cup, it can cause stress for the mom and then the entire family! Chiropractic care can help individuals to feel great both mentally and physically, which can allow them to be the best mom/wife they can be.
• Focusing on the mom. All too often, once the baby is born, all the attention switches from mom to baby. We love to care for the new mom, making sure she is feeling supported, can handle stress to the best of her ability, and is out of pain. There was an article in the Pathways Magazine that said rather than stating a women is “having a baby,” we should use the term, “becoming a mother.” Putting a spin like this on it can place more focus on the mom.

• Being a mom can have a certain amount of stress that comes with the job. We want to be help you better manage and adapt the stress that you have to process daily. Psychologist Christine Meinkecke defines self-care as: “….choosing behaviors that balance the effects of emotional and physical stressors: exercising, eating healthy foods, getting enough sleep, practicing yoga or meditation or relaxation techniques, abstaining from substance abuse, pursuing creative outlets, engaging in psychotherapy. Also essential to self-care is learning to self-soothe or calm our physical and emotional distress.” We believe one could include balancing your nervous system with chiropractic care in this definition as well.
• If we can encourage a healthy lifestyle for a mom, that will often translate to a healthy lifestyle for the entire family!! We take great care in inspiring movement, healthy foods, and clean products.
• By helping one mom, that can often translate to helping 5 or more people! It is amazing the impact one women can have on the people in her life; between her sharing knowledge or encouragement with family, friends, or coworkers. We believe you truly can change the world one mom at a time!
